This story will pretty much show you how many “realities” are out there in the world. What could be perfectly common sense to you may raise eyebrows in another continent. The Iran TV channel (IRINN) has been running a campaign saying that Disney is linked to Zionism. Comments like “Pirates of the Caribbean” is the latest ammunition and that the “Aladdin” animated series denigrates Arabs.

This last comment gives me a visual: “come closer, come closer [nose splattered on the screen] errr too close, too close. Welcome to Agrabad! combination hookah and fry cutter, won’t brake, won’t brake… it broke!

Yes we do watch Aladdin in the household. My kids love it actually. They have all three DVDs. A whole new world! well not really for the folks in Iran I guess, they prefer to live in their own world and that’s great for them. They look at the western culture and feel the threat. So naturally, they need to fight that threat with such ridiculous news reports. They even go as far as analyzing the Disney association with Hollywood and who’s on their board of directors. I’m guessing this is to validate that they have reasearched their story and their point should be taken well.

They even go after Tom and Jerry: “Prof. Hasan Bolkhari, a cultural adviser to the Iranian Education Ministry, told Iran’s Channel 4 the Tom and Jerry cartoon is a Jewish conspiracy.”

OK, that’s it! you don’t mess with my favorite cartoon. So this professor Bolkhari discovered a conspiracy, and he is a cultural advisor. that should tell you where their culture is heading.

“Tom and Jerry,” the creation of Joe Barbera and Bill Hanna, was created in 1939, the year World War II began and while the Holocaust was in full force, for the MGM cartoon studios, not Disney.

Wait a minute! Didn’t their president say that the Holocaust is just vaporware? go figure! Well, i did not want to waste more of my time reading the entire article, here’s a link if you are still interested.
